The best D&Mn Indoor Air Quality in Milwaukee
Stuffy. Dusty. Dry. Damp. Not on our watch.
Each one has a fix. We do all four.
Talk to a real person 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
You spend more hours breathing the air in your house than the air outside it. That's worth getting right.
Four Problems. Four Families of Fixes.
Too Many Particles
Dust, dander, pollen, pet hair, cooking smoke.
The Fix:
filtration + purification
Too Dry
Winter air feels like sandpaper. Static shocks. Cracked lips. The dog won't sit still on the couch.
The Fix:
dehumidifiers + airflow
Too Humid
Basement smells musty. Windows sweat. Ductwork sweats (yes, that's a thing).
The Fix:
dehumidifiers + airflow
Bad Room-to-Room Airflow
One room is always hot, another is always cold, the upstairs is its own climate.
The Fix:
zoning + duct work

What We Know About Milwaukee Air
Three things we run into a lot. They run against the "more is always better" intuition - but they're true here.
1: Don't go higher than MERV 8 on most Milwaukee homes.
You'd think a higher-MERV filter means cleaner air. Sometimes. But Milwaukee ductwork - especially in older homes -Ω was built for lower-restriction filters. Slap a MERV 13 in and you starve the system for airflow. Your AC ices over. Your furnace works harder, costs more, lasts shorter. We see this all the time.
For most homes here, MERV 8 is the right filter - and pairing it with a separate purifier (UV light, in-duct purifier, or whole-house unit) is how you actually clean the air without strangling the system.
If your home has wider ductwork (newer, custom, or specifically built for high-MERV), we'll tell you. Then go for it.
2: New tight homes sweat ducts in the summer.
The newer, tighter, better-insulated houses - the ones that are great at keeping winter heat in - are also great at keeping summer humidity in. The cold air running through your ducts hits the humid air around them, and the ducts sweat like a glass of iced tea on the back porch.
Visible water on ductwork. Wet spots on the basement ceiling. Mold growing where you can't see it.
Fix: a whole-house dehumidifier, sometimes paired with better airflow.
3: A carbon monoxide alarm means call us and leave the house.
If your CO detector goes off, get the family outside, then call We Energies (free - they tag the source). Then call us. We'll diagnose the equipment and tell you what's going on.
CO is invisible, odorless, and serious. We don't mess around with it.
When to Call
You don't have to wait for something to break. Call when:
What Happens When You Call
(414) 281-5350
Same hours as everything else: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
Symptoms, rooms, recent changes.
The tech brings instruments. We measure humidity, airflow, temperature differential, and look at filter condition. We don't guess.
Sometimes it's a $30 filter swap. Rarely it's a $4,000 new zoned-ducts installation. Most often, it's a few options in-between.
Who You’re Calling
Your family breathes the air in their bedrooms eight hours every night, plus a couple hours in front of the TV, meals - all of it totalling around 14 hours a day. That's the air we think about.
Allergies. Dry skin. The musty basement. The room nobody wants to sleep in. Most of these have a fix. Sometimes a humidifier - or de-humidifier - is all you need.
Jeff, Tim, and I think it's worth knowing the difference.
Same family. Same company.
Same Milwaukee-honest way of doing things.

We get lots of them. Here are a few of our favorites...
My furnace would not heat so I called D&M. In less than 2 hours, Alyssa called prior to arriving and then pulled up 10 minutes later. She quickly identified the issue and fixed it and then made sure things were working before she left.
Our air conditioner went out during a hot spell, they came out right away and by the next day we had a new unit installed. The installers were friendly and very efficient. We are very pleased with our experience with D&M Heating.
I jokingly told them: “I don’t speak HVAC”, but they were kind enough to teach me what I needed to know to be an informed homeowner!
